Hi! We’re Garrett and Jess.

We met in July 2020 and quickly connected over a shared love of dessert. Our first date consisted of a lot of ice cream and even more honest conversation. Flash forward to one random day in January 2022 when Jess came home to a new ice cream machine. What started then as a little hobby project has quickly turned into something we want to share with everyone, in a big way. And we’ll let you in on a little secret… it’s a lot more than just ice cream.

The name Seemingly Overzealous is actually a nod to a text sent the morning after our first date. (You know the kind – you’re into someone new and you want to tell them, but it comes with the risk of being rejected.) So often, we hold back sharing our true feelings out of fear that they won’t be accepted or reciprocated. But in doing so, we’re denying our relationships the joy that comes with showing up freely and wholly ourselves.

Seemingly Overzealous is a reminder to honor all those emotions, big or small, and to connect with others authentically and intentionally. Have the difficult conversation. Be honest about your needs and feelings. Share your darkest fears and your highest aspirations. Send the damn text.

Don’t skip the hard stuff, because you’ll miss all the good stuff.
